Mid-Day 1 at Telepresence World

2007.06.04 by John Serrao

I attended another interesting speech this afternoon here at Telepresence World called Trends in Collaboration with David Coleman of Collaborative Strategies. In this breakout session, he outlined his thoughts about a topic called Collaboration 2.0. David outlined his evolution of various collaborate tools. He started with the web itself, showing us a progression from Web 1.0 (static content delivery) to Web 2.0 (dynamic social interaction online) then eventually to Web 3.0 (semantic web of enhanced collaboration) and finally to Web 4.0 (ubiquitous web that weaves itself into humanity). The collaboration aspect aligns itself alongside his idea of the web, showing how collaborative tools are now distributed and used in much the same way Web 2.0 works, leading to the Collaboration 2.0 moniker.

This afternoon I sat down with the good people of Telanetix and learned about their telepresence offerings and I will post a story about it a bit later.
