We are a small technology publishing company in the field of videoconferencing, telepresence, and visual collaboration and we are seeking a marketing and sales professional with superb writing skills for a consulting assignment that could turn into a full-time opportunity within five months.

We produce a yearly magazine and catalog of visual collaboration solutions: videoconferencing systems, telepresence solutions, unified communications, cameras, etc. We have the largest identifiable audience in the world interested in these technologies.

We are about to embark on a major redesign of our website, on-line catalog, and print catalog and are looking for a talented marketing and sales professional that would like to make an impact and add creation of an industry leading website and print catalog to their portfolio.

The position could turn into a full time position starting in March if the candidate can prove their worth to the organization and demonstrate results.

The Position is 40% pure marketing, 40% sales, and 20% project management of the production of what you have sold.

Marketing Responsibilities (40% of Position):
Creation of printed marketing materials including postcards, flyers, advertisements and e-blasts
– Directing and supervising outside graphic designers.
Oversee and hone our Salesforce.com database
Create content for our website and magazine.
Scheduling printing and mailing of marketing materials.
Writing Press Releases for ourselves and clients
Create and manage e-mail campaigns to our list
Development of a new website including directing and supervising an outside website design firm.

Sales Responsibilities (40% of Position):

Represent our advertising program to visual collaboration companies looking to reach the largest and highest quality identifiable audience in the world interested in visual collaboration solutions.  The program wraps up print, on-line, and social media with an excellent brand-name reputation in the industry and satisfied, reference customers who renew each year.

–          Webconferences with prospecting clients

–          Create proposals for advertising and customer content

–          Direct mail & Email Programs to prospective Sponsors

Project Management Responsibilities:

Project manage the advertising you sell through the production process and project manage the marketing program you create.

Skills & Experience:
MUST HAVE SUPERB WRITING SKILLS AND GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC IP TECHNOLOGIES!!
A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field, or commensurate experience.
Proficiency working with various Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Articulate, self-motivated, energetic team player.
Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
Working knowledge of email campaigning and social media.
Great eye for detail and understanding of layout and design.
Basic knowledge of web design highly preferred.
Experience in marketing/graphic design preferred.

Flexible hours: We offer superb flexibility for the right candidate.

This position will need to work out of our office in Ashburn, VA initially to “learn the ropes” and can then work remotely at least 80% of the time if desired.

Compensation:

The position is 30 hours per week until at least March 31st, 2014.  Your position will be that of an independent contractor.

30 Hours Per Week Total – Targeted Annualized Comp: $69,600 + Commission

Marketing & Project Management:

20 Hours Per Week @ $40 Per Hour

  • $800 Per Week / $3200 Per Month

Sales:

10 Hours Per Week @ $20 Per Hour + Commission (15% on Sales & 50% on On-Boarding Fees)

  • $200 Per Week + $1800 in Commission on Sales of $12,000 Per Month.  This is a very conservative number which could be pushed much higher through success.

 

Managing Editor – Telepresence Options

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both print/on-line publishing and telepresence and effective visual collaboration.  The candidate’s knowledge base should encompass: telepresence environments, videoconferencing endpoints, codecs, and network infrastructure.  Knowledge of telepresence/videoconferencing managed services, inter-networking, and exchange.

The candidate will be able to managed multiple websites on both Movable Type and WordPress self-publishing platforms and a subscription management system built on Salesforce.com.

The Editor will be responsible for tracking the news and developments of the telepresence and videoconferencing industry on a daily basis and be responsible for writing 3-4 articles per week on the important developments of the industry plus longer feature articles for Telepresence Options publications that can be written over several weeks time.

The editor will supervise three part-time contractors in graphic design, website maintenance, and site upkeep and an outside agency.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to represent the publication to the media, sponsors, advertisers and grow the new print publication, Telepresence Options Magazine, as measured in new subscribers and advertisers.
