PLEASANTON, Calif., Nov. 1 -- Polycom, Inc. , the market leader in unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced an expansion of its sales leadership in the Northeast region with the appointment of Jack Edelman as Sales Director for the New York Metro area and Nick Felicione as Sales Director for East Enterprise Markets. The Eastern region, particularly New York City, represents a large base of Polycom enterprise customers and prospects across a broad spectrum of industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and manufacturing, among others.

The announcement is part of a global expansion of Polycom's high-touch, go to market strategy which matches sales teams to customer segments emphasizing industry knowledge, a best practices-based consultative approach, and singular focus on the business benefits Polycom solutions bring to IT and line of business managers. Polycom's investment in its sales team, and corresponding channel partners who implement all Polycom solutions, is in response to organizations who need instantaneous, highly interactive and widely deployed conferencing and collaboration solutions to eliminate the barriers of globally dispersed workers, customers, partners, and vendors in order to gain competitive efficiencies and agility.

A recognized industry veteran, Jack Edelman joins Polycom after ten years at Nortel where he was responsible for enterprise product sales in the Northeast representing $90 million in revenue. Edelman also held senior executive positions at computer hardware and software companies including Pioneer-Standard Electronics, Advanced Systems Concepts, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Also a seasoned sales executive, Nick Felicione has over nineteen years experience in creating, developing, maintaining and retaining high volume sales. Felicione joins Polycom from RSA Security where he was responsible for eastern region sales to the financial sector. He has also worked for Network Associates and Digital Equipment Corporation.

"Jack and Nick represent the investment Polycom is making across all our sales teams in ensuring our customer engagement model and experience is second to none," said Mark Dickey, Polycom vice president, US Sales. "Their experience and knowledge of the region and its industries is unmatched. Customers continue to look to Polycom for sales professionals who know their business, and who offer the broadest, award-winning portfolio of innovative high definition voice, video and telepresence solutions that span the desktop to meeting rooms to executive boardrooms."
