LifeSize Expands Portfolio with Conference & Express

Today, on the heels of record-breaking revenue growth, LifeSize announced their latest portfolio updates. This trio includes LifeSize Express, an executive solution - LifeSize Team MP, a new traditional video conferencing system and LifeSize Conference, a hot new platform designed for telepresence implementations. Taken with the company's flagship product, LifeSize Room, this new lineup makes high definition video communications accessible and affordable.Earlier this month the company released its LifeSize 3.0 software update to enhance the software functionality of its high definition codecs in the Room and Team products.
This latest portfolio update is important to both telepresence users and fans of HD collaboration solutions not just for the advanced technology, but also for the breathtaking price points they are establishing with the portfolio. All products support 1280x720, 16:9 at 30 frames per second.
- Dubbed LifeSize Conference, the new package includes multiple codecs supporting H.323 signaling and capable of supporting up to three of the company's HD cameras, up to three display monitors and a fourth monitor for showing data sharing service supporting H.239. This offering can demand as much as 15 Mbps in each room, with the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price at $39,999.
- This new package caps the high end of the portfolio, and complements the new LifeSize Room. The enhancements to the Room appliance now supports 2 monitors, 2 LifeSize HD cameras or 2 Sony EVI-HD1 cameras, and ships with 4-way Continuous Presence capability and 6-way Voice Activated Switching. MSRP of $11,999.
- The LifeSize Team is phased out in favor of the new LifeSize Team MP (that's Multi-Point to you) and includes capabilities for 4-way continuous presence, at MSRP of $8,999.
- The new LifeSize Express is designed for executive office type deployments since the appliance is optimized for point-to-point sessions and brings up the portfolio with an MSRP of $5,999.
Together the refreshed LifeSize lineup expands their participation in the high end of the market - where immersion is the required feature set - provided the reseller and service provider partners of LifeSize can address the room challenges of lighting, acoustics, surfaces and furniture - and where voice activated switching and continuous presence are required features.
At the executive office level, the LifeSize Express offers a market-expanding opportunity: broaden the appeal of the HD video experience to many new upper and lower-upper middle management. This segment often cannot justify a Team implementation, but could discover, justify and approve an application of point-to-point that connects them directly to one or more key customers, key partners or key colleagues.
