Telanetix Announces Software Upgrade to Existing Telepresence Solution

September 25, 2007 | John Serrao

Version 3.2 Includes Video Sharing And Enhancements To Control Panel

Telanetix, Inc. (NASDAQ: TXNI) , a leading developer of IP-based video conferencing solutions, announced today the release of Version 3.2, a software upgrade to its telepresence offering that improves functionality and builds enhancements into the control panel for new and existing customers.

"Because of our unique software offering in the telepresence space, we are able to provide updates based on what our key vertical markets desire," said Robert Leggio, VP of Sales for Telanetix. "Our flexible solution allows us to quickly implement additions that require no installation for the customer; rather all updates are simply downloaded over the existing network. The ability to rapidly and cost-effectively meet the needs of our customers significantly differentiates us from the competition."

Some of the upgrades in Version 3.2 include:

  • Auxiliary video support -- Telanetix's customers are now able to share video presentations, such as S-Video or DVD's between locations. Customers are also able to share live video from a separate source.
  • Alternate screen mappings -- Users are now able to customize which screens are used for data and which are used for the live video.
  • Enhancements to the two-screen configuration -- The ability to support multipoint, data-sharing and legacy compatibility have been added to Telanetix's Executive Line.
  • Additional tools added to the control panel -- Telanetix's easy-to-use control panel now includes options for managing an auxiliary video input (either a DVD or legacy system's camera). In addition, the control panel is easier to configure for multiple destinations (whether that is adding office locations or connecting all offices with a 'select-all' button).

"Today's telepresence market is growing faster than ever before," said Tom Szabo, Chairman and CEO of Telanetix. "Rapidly improving technology, such as our IP-based offering, is driving down price points and allowing more businesses, large and small, to purchase systems like Telanetix. With our flexible and scalable products, we will continue to be at the forefront of this trend."

Telanetix uses its proprietary Digital Presence technology to provide telepresence solutions that facilitate a natural meeting environment with geographically dispersed participants. The flexibility of the Telanetix technology allows people to meet and collaborate, using their own data and tools, as if they were all in the same room.
