Telanetix Customer Wins Create Third Quarter Backlog

July 11, 2007 | Chris Payatagool

SAN DIEGO, July 10 -- Telanetix, Inc., a leading developer of IP-based video and conferencing solutions, announced today that new customer wins in June have significantly increased backlog for the company's products and services. Telanetix enters the third quarter with a backlog in excess of $1.5 million after winning contracts in various key verticals including hospitality, financial services, medical, education and entertainment.

"Recent contract wins have helped us build a substantial backlog for the third quarter," said Robert Leggio, Telanetix Vice President of Sales. "As we continue to introduce new features that meet the needs of users in various industries we will be able to increase our sales in these new vertical markets."

Telanetix uses its proprietary Digital Presence technology to provide telepresence solutions that facilitate a natural meeting environment with geographically dispersed participants. The flexibility of the Telanetix technology allows people to meet and collaborate, using their own data and tools, as if they were all in the same room.

"We are creating telepresence products that satisfy the unique communication and collaboration needs of targeted vertical markets," stated Rick Ono, Telanetix President and Chief Operating Officer. "Our philosophy is that the technology must serve the user in their natural meeting environment. We are leveraging the flexibility of our core technology to create application-specific telepresence solutions that meet the needs of organizations in industries such as hospitality, financial services, medical, education and entertainment."

In our global economy, companies both large and small communicate with distributed braches and business divisions. While executives could be located across the nation or on different continents, the need for face-to-face meetings still exists. Companies like Telanetix are providing these organizations with an alternative to time-consuming and expensive business travel. As a result, these organizations can facilitate better communication, speed time-to-market and increase efficiencies.

What's more, organizations can also use telepresence products to develop better customer relations. While phone and e-mail interactions still play a critical role in the overall communications between the company and its customers, face-to-face meetings via telepresence deliver a level of comfort and productivity that is difficult to capture otherwise.
