Polycom Enters Telepresence Industry with RPX

I have been getting a lot of e-mail and phone calls since Polycom entered the telepresence market on May 22nd when they announced their Polycom RealPresence Experience (RPX)offering which is an OEM telepresence environment built by Destiny Conferencing (TeleSuite) which also produces the MedPresence Conference Room, a telepresence solution for surgical education, and solutions for PangeAir, an affiliated start-up looking to build a global network of publicly available TeleSuite Systems.
I am working on a longer and more thorough piece with my thoughts and analysis and have spoken with Polycom, MedPresence, and PangeAir but am still trying to hook up with Destiny Conferencing CEO David Allen and President Scott Allen to get their thinking. In the mean time so the e-mails can end:
Yes... I know that Polycom has rolled out RPX... Find the complete announcement Here:
Yes... I will be writing about it....
Yes... I know that my picture is on the RPX webpage and Polycom RPX Brochure (The back of my rapidly balding melon has also been on the front cover of the prestigous Dayton Business Journal... another TeleSuite modeling assignment that I have yet to receive a nickel in royalties from)
Yes... I know that the trailer from the unveiling of the MedPresence Conference Room in Phoenix still says that Telepresence, Effective Visual Collaboration and the Future of the Global Business at the Speed of Light was going to be released in April. It has been delayed by about six weeks. start looking for it around June 7th or sign up for The Art of Productivity the Lab's newsletter to automatically receive a copy when it is released.
I will be in New York City this Friday, June 2nd getting to see a demonstation of the new multi-point capabilities of the HP Halo Collaboration Studio in a four site-international conference, a new capability they press-released today along with lower prices and new Fortune 500 customers: General Electric Commercial Finance, AIG, and BHP Billiton (more on that coming as well). I will also be checking out the new 4th Generation Teliris GlobalTable while I am in town as well. Anything else kewl going on in the City on Friday?
