Traditional Videoconferencing Industry Remains Flat ... Yet Again...

May 4, 2006 | HSL

The May 4th, 2006 edition of the Wainhouse Research Bulletin published Q1 2006 numbers for Polycom and Tandberg. They weren't pretty...

Despite:

* $50+ a barrel oil for the majority of 2005
* 5 Airline bankruptcies
* A decline in the convenience and "glamour" of commercial aviation
* A continually globalizing economy
* Significant Merger and Acquisition activity (especially internationally)
* Continuing improvements in the quality and cost-effectiveness of IP networks
* A slew of firewall traversal solutions for improving inter-company utility
* Increasing adoption of improved resolution H.264 video codecs

The traditional videoconferencing industry has managed to, once again, tread water and suck wind.
